MY FIRST DAY AT M.I.I.L.A.

Welcome to M.I.I.L.A. and thank you for showing such interest in our language school! The official orientation day is always held on Mondays. All students are asked to arrive at 9:00am. You will be met by one of our representatives in the student lounge. Coffee and tea, as well as muffins and donuts, will be served to you.

First of all, you will have to complete our language assessment test. The first part of the test is meant to evaluate your written skills. It takes about 20 minutes. The second part of the test is meant to evaluate your oral skills and you will have to do an interview with one of our teachers. It can last from 5 minutes to 15 minutes, depending on your level.

Once the test is done, all students gather in the student lounge and are officially introduced to M.I.I.L.A. with our welcome speech. During the speech, you will be given a Student Handbook; it contains important information about the rules and policies at M.I.I.L.A., about the city of Montreal, the transportation system, the bilingual environment, etc… You will also be given your schedule, the level you are in, where your class is and who the teachers are. Please note that the schedules are also on the student board in the school. During the orientation in the lounge, feel free to ask any question you may have.

Depending on the number of new students, the Orientation Session will either last half a day or a full day.
