Study & work — Language Coop program

Program Description

The Language Coop Programs at MIILA consist of 2 components: an in-class study component and a work practicum component.

The first component involves academic sessions in English or French (or both), depending on the principal language of a future placement. This is a 1 to 6 month full-time intensive course in English or French, the goal of which is to develop all language skills, help students acquire career-relevant vocabulary, and improve fluency in a familiar and social context. A successful completion of the first component leads to either a period of work or an internship.

  1. A. Guaranteed Internship

For an internship, the students are placed in an industry that reflects their interests, previous work experience and educational background (some exceptions apply). All the internships arranged by MIILA are unpaid.

The minimum period of study for the Student Internship Program is 4 weeks and the maximum is 24 weeks.

  1. B. Casual Work Experience Program (Self– Placement)

Students in the Casual Work Experience Program arrange their work placement independently and remuneration depends on your working experience and a job offer.

The minimum period of study for the Casual Work Experience Program is 12 weeks and the maximum is 24 weeks.
