 Cancellation and Refund Policies

Please note that the following fees are NON-REFUNDABLE:

• Registration fee

• Accommodation placement fee (if applicable)

• Medical insurance plan (if applicable)

• Airport transfer fees: please provide your arrival date, time and flight number at least one (1) week in advance.
If you do not arrive at the airport within three (3) hours of your scheduled arrival time, transfer expenses will NOT be refunded.

Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizens

If you wish to withdraw from the program at M.I.I.L.A. you must first provide a written letter (signed and dated) including a valid reason for withdrawal from the course or cancellation. Until the letter is received, you will be considered a registered program participant.  Please note that non-attendance of classes is not a valid reason.

International Students

a) Visa denial: A full refund of your tuition fees (less the program application fees) will be made should a student’s visa application be denied by Immigration Canada for the purpose of studying at M.I.I.L.A. In this case, we ask that you provide us with a letter from the Canadian Embassy indicating that your entry visa to Canada has been denied, as well as your refund request.

b) Once you have received your visa or if you do not require a visa: If you wish to withdraw from your program at M.I.I.L.A., you must first provide us with a written notice (signed and dated) including a valid reason for withdrawal from the course or cancellation. Until such a notice has been received, you will be considered a registered program participant. Please note that non-attendance is not a valid reason.

In addition,you will have to prove that your stay in Canada and visa status are legal, or that you will be leaving the country (airline ticket required). M.I.I.L.A. will also require proof of registration if you are attending another school that meets your current visa requirements. If you already have a student visa, you will have to re-apply for a new one. For those students who have applied through an agent, please contact the agent in question for a refund.

 

If you session has already begun, the first four (4) weeks or your tuition and homestay fees are non-refundable.

Refunds for the unused portion of your tuition are noted in the table below:

From 2 weeks prior to the start date up to 10% of course completed  

More than 10 % and up to 30 % of course completed  

More than 30% of  course completed  

50% refund  30% refund  No refund

Program Modifications

Modifications to the course dates may be made once at a cost of $100 (CAD).Please note that this fee is non-refundable.

Disclaimer

M.I.I.L.A. reserves the right to cancel or defer its courses and alter class timetables should there be an insufficient number of students.

M.I.I.L.A. will offer private or semi-private courses of a shorter duration to replace the cancelled courses;

OR

If a student prefers, M.I.I.L.A. will refund the tuition fees for services not delivered as a result of such a cancellation.

Should you be eligible for a refund under the above conditions, you will be reimbursed within 30 to 60 days from the time M.I.I.L.A. receives your written notice of cancellation or of M.I.I.L.A.’s written notice of dismissal.

International students must return the original Letter of Acceptance to M.I.I.L.A. in the case of a cancellation or refund.

 

Refund of Accommodation Fees 

a) Visa denial: You are entitled to a full refund of your paid accommodation fees. You must provide us with an official letter from the Canadian Embassy stating the reasons for which your visa was refused.

 

b) Once you have received your visa and up to the day before you session begins: If you have a student visa but decide not to attend the courses, you will have to provide us with a written notice stating the reasons for your withdrawal. All paid fees (other than the registration fee, placement fee and administrative fee of CAD$200) will be refunded.

 

c) Once you have started your courses: You must provide us with a written letter stating the reasons for your withdrawal. The first four (4) weeks of accommodation are non-refundable.

Note:

  • All refunds are made by cheque. We do not refund in cash.
  • All refunds are made within 30-60 days of reception of your written notice of cancellation/withdrawal.
